PNM Resources Declares Common Stock Dividend Albuquerque, N.M., October 1, 2002 -- The Board of Directors of PNM Resources (NYSE:PNM), has declared the regular quarterly dividend of $0.22 per share on common stock, for an indicated annual dividend of $0.88 per share. The dividend is payable November 15, 2002 to shareholders of record on November 4, 2002. "Preserving an investment grade credit rating and offering a reasonable dividend to investors are key to PNM's financial strategy," said PNM Resources Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Sterba. "We remain committed to the dividend policy adopted earlier this year, which targets an 8 to 10 percent annual increase in the common stock dividend until the payout ratio reaches 50 to 60 percent of earnings from our regulated utility business." PNM Resources is an energy holding company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
