Michael Hanley, Executive Vice President of Alcan Inc. will assume interim responsibilities as the Company's Chief Financial Officer in May 2005. Mr. Hanley will replace Geoffery E. Merszei, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, who is leaving the Company to join The Dow Chemical Company.
