Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On August 11, 2010, Maryann Hughes, the Vice President and Director of Human Resources of Five Star Quality Care, Inc., or the Company, notified the Company of her resignation. Ms. Hughes advised the Company that the reasons for her decision were personal and were not the result of any disagreement with us. The Company expects Ms. Hughes to remain in her current position for a limited period of time for transition purposes.
