          DESC SIGNS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICE CONTRACT WITH EDS

Mexico City, August 9, 2004 - DESC, S.A. de C.V. (BMV:DESC; NYSE:DES) ("Desc" or
"the Company") announced today that it had signed an outsourcing contract with
EDS for the operation of all of Desc's information technology for the next five
years.

The outsourcing contract between the two companies includes infrastructure
support and administration for all ERP and non-ERP applications, e-mail, network
administration, call center, user support, security and repair of key
infrastructure components, among others.

This transaction translates into direct and immediate savings for Desc, which
continues reducing its current cost structure in order to become more
competitive and flexible.

In addition, it will enable Desc to increase the efficiency of its information
technology services, and provides access to a wide range of industry solutions,
guaranteed management of investments in technology, state-of-the-art technology,
faster response times, as well as the incorporation of best practices and
innovative ideas.
