In Part Two of an exclusive eight-part interview series, Kami Alaniz, founder of Helping People Like Me Ministry – A Just Brooke, LLC Kingdom Initiative, shares how personal trials, spiritual lessons, and unwavering faith shape her mission. TSR NEWS GROUP: You have faced profound loss, health challenges, and emotional pain. What was the moment that hurt the most, and what did it teach you about God's presence in your life?
Kami Alaniz: The hardest moment was losing my brother just 30 hours after his heart transplant. He was my best friend, and his death shattered something deep inside me. Another moment I call the "bad date night" triggered intense spiritual warfare and confusion. I questioned everything.
At that time, I did not fully discern the love of God. That season of suffering became the place where God taught me spiritual discernment. I began to recognize the difference between the enemy's deception and the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Through betrayal, illness, misdiagnosis, and near-death moments with Hashimoto's [disease] and a pituitary tumor, I learned that God's presence is not proven by how fast He removes pain. It is proven by the way He stays with us in it.
When I could not feel Him, He was there. In my darkest hours, He was speaking. That pain became sacred ground where I met Him most intimately.
Now I help others learn what I have come to understand. Healing is real. Spiritual restoration is possible. God's love never leaves you.
TSR NEWS GROUP: You often speak about "helping people like you." What does that phrase mean to you today?
Kami Alaniz: "Helping people like me" used to mean those who felt stuck, overwhelmed, and tired of just surviving. Now I understand it is deeper than that.
It is for anyone—man or woman—who has experienced betrayal, trauma, confusion, or spiritual weariness. It is also for those who carry quiet stress without knowing what to do next.
It is for the people who smile in public but break down in private. It is for those who believe in God but quietly wonder, "Why am I still stuck?" It is also for those who feel off, numb, or unsure of their next step.
We all need a space to reset, to rediscover who we are, and to walk in the dream life God intended. This Kingdom Movement is for hearts that have been cracked wide open and also for the ones that just feel a little lost.
TSR NEWS GROUP: When the applause fades and the cameras are off, what keeps you grounded in your purpose?
Kami Alaniz: I come back to the day I heard God say "Help people like you" for the third time and the promise I made to Him in response. I told God, "When my life is better, I will help people like me." That promise keeps me steady.
My value is not in how loud the applause is. It is in how obedient I am to the call.
On the hard days, I remind myself that God does not need me to be perfect. He needs me to be available. I return to the Word, to prayer, and to the voice of the Holy Spirit reminding me that this is bigger than me. What I am building is about allowing the Holy Spirit to work through me for the transformation of others.
I often think back to the seasons when I believed in Jesus but still felt disconnected from the promises I heard in church. I would sit through sermons about God's love and wonder if those promises were meant for someone else—or worse, I would skip church or stop praying because I believed the lies that I was not worthy. That confusion and shame were real; I so wished for someone who had been through those exact struggles and could say, from experience, "I understand."
God has led me to be that person. I was once the one who believed the enemy's lies and desperately wanted someone who truly understood. Now I am humbled and ecstatic to answer the call to "Help People Like Me." I do not only know what it feels like to be stuck—I know how the Holy Spirit can lead someone out. I also bring years of personal study and practical experience, and I allow the Holy Spirit to work through that knowledge in our sessions.

Kami Alaniz: I would want them to know: There is nothing wrong with you. You are not weak because you are struggling. You are not broken beyond healing.
Whether you are a man or a woman, hurt hits the soul the same way.
I have been through things that could have taken me out. God does not waste pain. He uses it.
There is a path from survival to restoration. It starts with being willing to reset.
That is why I created videos, courses, bundles, e-books, and full classes. None require you to talk to anyone about your problems, unless you want to. You can walk through them privately and still receive complete healing, because the Holy Spirit will meet you right where you are, just like He met me.
All of my work is a combination of deep understanding and lived experience. Most likely, I have walked through what is troubling you. The Holy Spirit showed me the way out. In everything I create and share, I connect with the Holy Spirit so He can speak through me to assist you. My role is to guide you. His presence brings the true healing, breakthrough, and transformation.
I built this from a place of knowing what it feels like to be a victim, to fight like a survivor, and now to lead from a place where the Holy Spirit has restored me. That perspective changes everything. I want others to experience that same freedom.
