Seed Company Appoints New CEO

ARLINGTON, TX / ACCESSWIRE / December 1, 2023 / Bible translation agency Seed Company has announced the appointment of Davis H. Powell as its next CEO.

Powell, currently the company's chief experience officer (CXO), begins his new role on March 1. He has worked in various capacities at Seed Company over the past eight years.

Powell's appointment comes during a year in which Seed Company celebrates its 30^th anniversary and 2,000^th language engagement. Seed Company began in 1993 with 10 pilot projects and has pioneered a movement to connect investors and prayer partners to local heart language speakers. The company's portfolio consists of more than 900 active language engagements through over 160 global translation partner organizations.

During Powell's tenure at Seed Company, he has been a creative thinker and problem solver, galvanizing teams while consistently serving key stakeholders. As CXO, he has led the company's development and marketing efforts. Current employees nominated him as a candidate for the CEO position.

Powell will become Seed Company's sixth permanent CEO. He follows Larry Jones, who has led the company since 2020 and announced in May that he would step down from his role after serving in Bible translation for more than 40 years. Jones plans to continue working in Bible translation. He played a key role in working with Seed Company's board of directors throughout the search process and will remain in his leadership role during the transition process until March 1.
