Marquis Who's Who Honors Christopher M. Mallett for Success in Construction

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / February 17, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who honors Christopher M. Mallett for success in the construction industry, whose nearly 50-year career has included oversight of extensive projects. Moreover, he takes great pride in mentoring upcoming construction professionals. As the director of field operations at O'Brien and Co. since 2018, he is also recognized as a Top Executive in the industry.

Leadership Across Projects

Currently, Mr. Mallett manages a $10 million project and supervises other superintendents, overseeing complex construction efforts to guarantee efficient execution. His prior roles at the company included serving as senior superintendent from 2019 to 2021 and as chief of field operations from 2021 to 2022. These positions allowed him to refine his approach to leadership and project management.

Before joining O'Brien and Co., Mr. Mallett spent six years at Alegis Construction. During his tenure, he served as operations manager and later as general manager. He oversaw projects across the U.S., managing teams and coordinating construction schedules. Earlier experience includes roles with SD Deacon, Polygon Northwest, K. Hovnanian Homes and Grant General Contractors. In these capacities, he managed retail villages, high-end homes and large-scale residential developments.

Early Career and Mentorship

Mr. Mallett began his construction career in 1976 as a laborer. By the mid-1980s, he had advanced to journeyman and later to superintendent positions. He credits his success to the guidance of mentors and his father. "I've had many mentors and a couple of fathers," Mr. Mallett says. "But it started with my father and his desire to make sure that I had a good work ethic, that I understood right from wrong, that I understood that when a man makes a commitment, he stands by it."

Throughout his career, Mr. Mallett has focused on training superintendents. He has written books and guided more than 100 superintendents across his last three companies. His efforts emphasize practical skills and leadership techniques to help them succeed in construction environments.

Academic Credentials and Civic Involvement

Mr. Mallett holds an associate degree in construction management from Lassen Community College. Additionally, he earned certificates in the International Building Code, Uniform Building Code and International Residential Code from Portland Community College. In 2023, he obtained a certificate in organizational leadership from Vistage. These academic accomplishments have strengthened his ability to manage projects effectively while developing leadership among his teams.

In addition to his professional work, Mr. Mallett contributes to civic causes and supports charitable initiatives. He has received awards such as Project of the Year from the DJC and Best Historical Restoration Project for excellence and is currently leading a high-end restoration of a historic library in Astoria, Oregon. The first licensed female architect in the state originally designed the notable landmark.

A Mentor for the Next Generation

In the upcoming years, Mr. Mallett plans to continue his role at O'Brien and Co. while maintaining his commitment to mentoring future leaders in the construction industry. At some point, after turning 70, he intends to reduce his overall work hours. His ultimate goal is to help remove obstacles that hinder others' growth and development.

Mr. Mallett's career reflects decades of hands-on experience, mentorship and leadership across a broad spectrum of construction projects. In the process, he exemplifies someone who no longer focuses only on his own success but instead on giving back.
