Former Morgan Stanley & Goldman Sachs Veteran Will Lead Luma’s Business Development Efforts in the SMA Market
Luma Financial Technologies (“Luma”), the world’s top independent and most objective, multi-issuer structured products and annuities platform, announced today that Ron Bezoza has joined the company as Managing Director, Head of Investment Solutions.
Over the past year, Luma has hired over 100 professionals to propel its growth in the US, Europe, and Latin America, across structured products and annuities. Mr. Bezoza will lead Luma’s efforts to continue expanding the availability of alternative products and strategies through its award-winning platform.
Mr. Bezoza joins Luma from Morgan Stanley, where he was a Managing Director and Head of the Managed Solutions Group, as well as the Head of Business Development for Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Solutions & Multi-Asset Group. In this role, Bezoza was responsible for developing and executing the division’s first manager-traded SMAs implemented via structured notes and no-cost index SMAs.
Earlier, Mr. Bezoza held various roles at Goldman Sachs, most recently as Head of Ayco Personal Advisory Services, where he was responsible for the sub-$10 million in assets wealth management segment. Previously, Mr. Bezoza supervised retail Separately Managed Accounts for Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Prior to this role, he was Global Head of the PWM Equity Solutions Group, where he directed marketing, portfolio management and trading across a range of equity and equity-linked products including structured notes, listed and over-the-counter derivatives and option overlay strategies.
To go along with his impressive investment background, Mr. Bezoza also brings with him extensive experience in fintech and startups. Before joining Goldman Sachs, he spent five years at Volaris Advisors in key leadership roles pre- and post-acquisition by Credit Suisse. He also previously served as the Head of Product Strategy at Screaming Media, a provider of syndicated general, business, and financial news to Internet and wireless services, which was acquired by Dow Jones following a successful IPO.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ron, an industry veteran with over 25-years of experience in investments and fintech, to the Luma team,” said Tim Bonacci, CEO of Luma Financial Technologies. “Ron brings with him unparalleled experience in the SMA universe. He will be instrumental as we continue to expand the availability of products on our fully objective platform for financial advisors and investors with a wide variety of financial needs and objectives.”
“Alternative investments have become essential holdings in all types of investor portfolios,” said Mr. Bezoza. “Luma’s technology is solving a problem that many financial professionals don’t even realize they have. By providing greater education, accessibility, transparency, and effective life cycle tracking features, Luma creates a competitive advantage for advisors looking to solve client challenges and increase their value-add to stand out in what has become a crowded field. I look forward to growing the SMA and other portions of our business, bringing our customers unmatched service, technology and investment solutions.”
