Service operates independently from, or in partnership with, investment banks to help issuers achieve optimal outcomes
ICR, a leading strategic communications and advisory firm, has launched a new Investor Access program to complement its suite of financial communications and advisory services. Investor Access provides management teams with issuer-centric insight, advice and execution support for meeting and connecting with the investment community.
While many investment banks and broker-dealers have Corporate Access teams that focus on serving the investment community, ICR’s Investor Access is solely geared toward the needs of corporate clients. The goal is to facilitate meetings that best suit their long-term goals and objectives.
“Meeting and building relationships with both current and potential long-term shareholders is critical to success in the public markets, but identifying and engaging with the most appropriate investors requires an approach that ensures the company’s interests are paramount,” said Meaghan Montegari, Managing Director and Head of ICR Investor Access. “We look at investor marketing through the lens of management and prioritize company goals, while applying a strategic perspective that leverages proprietary insights and historical data points to facilitate productive relationships that drive long-term value for issuers.”
In addition to working directly with management teams, ICR Investor Access will collaborate with the sell-side to help ensure successful marketing events for all participants.
“Our goal is not to disintermediate the sell-side,” added Ms. Montegari. “Rather, we’re forming a stronger partnership with issuers and augmenting the traditional process to help establish and build long-term investor relationships.”
In order to establish and build long-term, highly valued relationships, ICR Investor Access employs a three-part engagement process:
- Identification: Investor targeting to identify prospective shareholders as well as current holders who may have the potential to own more.
- Connection: Marketing coordination and preparation to facilitate productive meetings with both new and existing shareholders.
- Retention: Develop an outreach plan to ensure consistent ongoing engagement with investors to sustain their support over time.
ICR Investor Access will work directly with management teams to identify, prioritize, and prepare for meetings with investors, as well as collaborate with companies represented by sell-side firms or brokers to ensure optimal impact from all investor marketing efforts.
“We established ICR Investor Access in response to client demand to enhance and optimize their investor marketing efforts,” said Tom Ryan, Founder and CEO of ICR. “It is a natural fit with our existing financial communication and advisory services and we are excited for Meaghan and her team to continue the impactful work they have already begun.”
ICR Investor Access is led by Meaghan Montegari, a veteran with nearly two decades of equity sales and corporate access experience on Wall Street at firms including Wells Fargo, Citi, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and Scotia Capital. She and her broader group are complemented by ICR’s team of more than 200 Wall Street veterans with extensive sector-based relationships and knowledge of interacting and building relationships with investors over multiple decades.
