Senior housing developer, owner, operator, and advocate 2Life Communities has appointed three new directors to its board: Ruthanne Fuller, Jason Honeyman, and Max Slifka. Collectively, they bring to the non-profit decades of experience across public and private sectors, supporting its ongoing work to expand service-enriched and affordable housing options for Massachusetts seniors. 2Life currently serves about 2,200 older adults at 12 properties across Massachusetts, totaling just under 2,000 apartments under management. The board provides strategic counsel and helps strengthen the organization’s presence across the state.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ruthanne, Jason, and Max to the 2Life board,” said 2Life’s Board Chair Laura Efron. “Their exceptional expertise in affordable housing, intellectual property, and real estate will serve the organization well as it continues to execute on its strategic plan for transformative and intentional growth. This growth is absolutely essential to fulfill our mission: to ensure every older adult has the opportunity to live a full life of connection and purpose in a dynamic, supportive environment.”
Ruthanne Fuller, who was the first female Mayor of Newton, Massachusetts, is well known for her background in strategic planning, business, and non-profit organizations. She served on Newton’s City Council for eight years before becoming Mayor in January 2018. Mayor Fuller focused on initiatives ranging from affordable housing and renewable energy to community policing and transportation. She chose not to seek re-election for a third term, concluding at the end of 2025, a tenure marked by significant progress in education, infrastructure, and social equity, including building Newton’s first center designed specifically to meet the needs of older adults. She holds degrees from Brown University and Harvard Business School.
Jason Honeyman is a senior shareholder at Wolf Greenfield, where he has practiced exclusively in the intellectual property space for over 35 years. He provides strategic, business-focused counseling to clients ranging from start-ups to industry leading companies and top-tier academic institutions. Jason develops strong and lasting client relationships, with several mainstay clients now in their third and even fourth decade with the firm. He earned a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering from Lafayette College and a J.D. cum laude from Suffolk Law School.
Max Slifka is Senior Vice President of Real Estate at Global Partners, a vertically integrated energy and real estate company, where he oversees the retail and ventures verticals. He joined the company in 2022 as Director of Real Estate Ventures following five years at Wingate Companies, a real estate investment, development, and management company. He graduated from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and holds certificates in International Finance and Comparative Strategic Management from Oxford University. Among other philanthropic endeavors, Max serves on the Champions for Children’s Committee for Boston Children’s Hospital and the board for Global for Good.
