New in-app clinic integrates care, payment, and coverage to make mental health support faster and easier for members
Alan, the global digital healthcare partner, has launched Alan Clinic, an in-app mental health support service for its Ontario members. Alan Clinic brings licensed talk therapy directly into the insurance experience, addressing the delays and administrative friction that often prevent people from accessing mental health care when they need it.
For employers, mental health access is often fragmented across providers, platforms, and reimbursement processes, making it difficult for employees to seek care early. Alan Clinic allows eligible members to bypass long public wait times, connecting them directly with licensed mental health professionals through the Alan app. Everything from scheduling and secure video sessions to payment is managed in one single, private and easy-to-use digital platform.

Alan Clinic launches in Ontario with licensed psychotherapists providing talk therapy through secure video sessions. The service does not provide diagnosis or prescribing, and therapists refer members to appropriate public or private resources when care needs extend beyond talk therapy. Therapists are supported through ongoing clinical supervision, structured performance reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days, and participation in a global peer consultation network led by clinical experts.
Recognizing the sensitive nature of mental health data, Alan Clinic is built on military-grade security. All therapy sessions are end-to-end encrypted and are not recorded, with clinical notes stored on Canadian servers accessible only to clinicians. Alan, as the insurer, has no access to session content, and employers receive no identifiable health information.
Mental health is the first area of care offered through Alan Clinic, and marks the beginning of Alan’s broader approach to integrating care services into the insurance experience in Canada.
