Sentinel Global Reunites Senior Investment Team Behind Affirm, DoorDash, Databricks, Coinbase, Chainalysis, Zoom, Snowflake, Uber

Returning leaders bring track record of 25 exits (20 IPOs) and launch an upgraded, AI-enabled venture platform ahead of planned 2026 fundraising

Sentinel Global, a multi-stage venture capital firm investing in enterprise technology founders who are reshaping the systems underpinning global markets, today announced a major expansion of the firm, reuniting a senior investment team that invested in companies such as Affirm, DoorDash, Airbnb, Chainalysis, Databricks, Zoom, Uber, Snowflake and Coinbase, and expanding Sentinel Labs, the firm’s AI-powered research arm, which helps limited partners and founders translate emerging technologies into deployable strategies. The new firm expects to be in the market in 2026 as it prepares its next phase of growth.

The new team includes the return of veteran investors who previously worked together at GIC, the sovereign investment fund of Singapore. Ethel Chen, a former Sequoia Capital Global Equities investor, who invested in companies such as Anthropic, Databricks, Zoom and Snowflake, will work alongside Karan Sharma, who invested in companies such as Anchorage, Uniswap, Coinbase and SpaceX, joining Managing Partner Jeremy Kranz. The new upgraded model is built around a senior team supported by automation and AI tooling and returns to a model of a highly experienced partner-focused venture firm, aided by innovative new AI tools.

“Sentinel is being rebuilt for the way venture actually works now: senior relationships, domain judgment and speed, paired with modern research and AI rails that remove friction,” said Kranz. “We’re bringing the band back together and investing in the infrastructure to serve founders and LPs more directly.”

A “New Sentinel” built for today’s venture market

Sentinel Global’s reboot is grounded in three pillars:

1) Team of experienced veterans with differentiated investing track record

The team has a combined 60+ years of investing and operating experience. Several former founders and all senior team members have done substantial business outside the US.

Here are the metrics: while at GIC, this team delivered a track record that includes 20 IPOs and generated tens of billions in returns. Kranz was an early investor and on the board of Doordash and Affirm. This team also led venture-stage investments overseas in Alibaba, Flipkart, Grab, JD, DJI, Bytedance, Meituan, Razorpay, Rappi and Xiaomi.

2) Sentinel Labs: applied research and international enterprise connectivity

Sentinel Labs builds on the team’s earlier work creating Bridge Forum, which connects global enterprises and venture-backed innovation—helping organizations outside the U.S. engage effectively with startups. Sentinel Labs produces research, convenings and practical analyses designed to accelerate adoption and de-risk partnership for enterprises and governments. It creates research for specific audiences, such as how to rebalance a portfolio in an AI bubble or how to measure the true stability of a stablecoin.

3) The “Unlimited Partner” model and early AI tooling for LPs and founders

Sentinel Global’s “Unlimited Partner” model is a hands-on approach that treats LPs as an active network informing investment theses and venture support. The firm also developed Sago, an AI product which is lightweight and fast to onboard. Sentinel Global has onboarded five LPs to initial tools and workflows, with more functionality planned. Sentinel has a formula for going beyond financial returns - helping LPs advance their understanding of tech enablement across traditional industries.

“LPs and founders don’t need hype, they need a usable advantage,” said Kranz. “We’re building a platform that makes research actionable, makes enterprise engagement repeatable, and makes AI practical, not theoretical.”

Sentinel Global is a thematic investor. We focus on three interconnected domains: AI Enterprise: The trust layer for autonomous systems—verifiable inference, private compute, and agentic governance; Programmable Money: Machine-to-machine financial rails enabling instant, 24/7 global settlement, and; Connected Commerce: Digitizing physical infrastructure to close the loop between intelligence and the real world.

These aren't separate theses: they're mutually reinforcing. AI agents operating in milliseconds cannot use T+3 banking rails. Physical systems managed by spreadsheets cannot respond to algorithmic decision-making. We invest at the convergence. We are enterprise technology investors who understand that programmable money is infrastructure, not speculation. Our portfolio spans quantum computing, legal AI, civil infrastructure, and beyond.
