Pizza lovers, rejoice! A new, interactive, and delightfully cheesy web tool called Pizza Maps has launched, offering users a one-of-a-kind way to explore and share their favorite pizza spots across the country - slice by slice. Whether someone is a deep-dish devotee or a thin-crust connoisseur, Pizza Maps helps users find the best pizza within a 10-mile radius.

The brainchild of tech-savvy foodie Amanda Walsh, Pizza Maps was born out of a simple problem: finding good pizza in a new city without falling victim to tourist traps or misleading star ratings.
"I was in Chicago in 2023, trying to find a decent slice at 11 PM, and I ended up eating what I can only describe as sauce-flavored cardboard," said Amanda Walsh, founder and Chief Pizza Officer of Pizza Maps. "I knew there had to be a better way. I didn’t want to just search - I wanted a map that felt like pizza. That showed me where the locals go, the hidden gems, the places with soul - and maybe a little grease.”
Pizza with Purpose
Pizza Maps is more than just a map. It’s a community-driven platform that allows users to tag, rate, and review pizzerias with bite-sized commentary (called “Crust Notes”) and pizza emojis that reflect real vibes - like “Midnight Marvel,” “Family Feast,” or “Hangover Hero.” Users can create their own personal pizza routes or share curated pizza crawls with friends.
The site uses a mix of crowd-sourced data, local food blogs, and AI-generated flavor profiles to recommend shops not just based on location, but on mood and craving. Think Spotify Wrapped, but for the pizza journey.

A Slice of Culture
Since its beta release earlier this year, Pizza Maps has already attracted over 40,000 users and sparked lively debates on social media over what truly defines a "perfect slice."
“We’re not here to pick sides in the pineapple debate,” Walsh joked. “But we are here to give pineapple pizza a safe space to exist - just on a different layer of the map.”
Early adopters have used Pizza Maps to plan birthday parties, late-night crawls, and even a cross-country pizza road trip called The Mozzarella Trail, currently trending on TikTok under #PizzaMapsChallenge.
Built for Fun, Backed by Tech
With a playful design inspired by retro diner menus and hand-tossed pizza boxes, Pizza Maps is powered by a robust, user-friendly interface built with travelers and foodies in mind. Walsh, who spent a decade in UX design before launching the platform, wanted the site to be “as easy to navigate as a pizza menu - and twice as fun.”
“Pizza is universal. It’s social. It’s nostalgic. And now, it’s mapped,” she said. “We built Pizza Maps to bring people together over something everyone loves: a hot, cheesy slice of joy.”
What’s Next?
Plans are already underway for a Pizza Maps mobile app, pizza delivery integration, and even limited-edition merch drops (pizza passport, anyone?). The team is also working with local food historians to spotlight historic pizza shops and neighborhood legends in an upcoming feature called “The Slice Story.”
