Vancouver, BC - A new podcast has officially entered the fitness media space, one that moves beyond reps and routines to tackle the realities of building a lasting career in personal training. Smittyville, hosted by industry veteran Chris Smith, is a biweekly Podcast for Personal Trainers that focuses on leadership, financial sustainability, professional development, and the evolving role of fitness professionals in today’s competitive environment.

Smittyville takes a direct approach to the real-world questions trainers face daily. How can one build a reliable income stream? What does leadership look like in a gym setting? How can trust and results be fostered in client relationships? These are the topics that form the heart of Smittyville, making it a relevant, grounded resource for trainers who want to grow their careers, not just their client rosters.
Chris Smith, host and creator of the show, brings over 25 years of firsthand industry experience to the mic. As President and CEO of Fitness World Canada and the British Columbia Personal Training Institute, Smith has led multi-location operations while mentoring hundreds of trainers. He’s also a former Chair of the Health and Fitness Association, giving him a national view of trends and challenges facing the profession.
Smith says Smittyville was born from recurring conversations with trainers looking for guidance. “I get asked the same questions by coaches at every level,” he explains. “This podcast is a way to answer them honestly and share insights that can help trainers build something lasting.”
Each episode is designed to be both insightful and actionable, featuring candid conversations about Personal Trainer Education, coaching techniques, confidence-building, and long-term planning. Smith is joined by co-host Krissy Vann, a journalist and media producer known for her coverage of the business of fitness. Together, they provide a blend of leadership perspective and industry reporting, highlighting voices that are often underrepresented in traditional fitness media.
The latest episode of Smittyville dives into the timely question: “Will AI Replace Trainers?” In this discussion, hosts Chris Smith and Krissy Vann explore how emerging technologies are impacting the fitness profession, what AI can and can’t replicate, and how personal trainers can future-proof their careers. Featuring insights from their AI co-host “Bad Ass Betty,” the episode explores what technology can support, what it can’t replace, and how trainers can adapt.
Smittyville is produced by All Things Fitness and Wellness, a media platform known for its executive interviews and fitness industry coverage. The podcast expands the platform’s reach by speaking directly to the trainers and coaches on the front lines of the wellness movement. Episodes are released biweekly and are available on all major platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, and Buzzsprout.
