Flagship online poker events continue to outperform expectations and attract record participation.
-- Americas Cardroom has announced the successful conclusion of its Dual Venom Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournaments, which collectively awarded $7.8 million in prize money—significantly exceeding guaranteed totals.
The $5 Million GTD Venom NLH PKO achieved a total payout of $6,245,000, including $3,122,500 in bounties, while the $1.5 Million GTD Venom PLO PKO paid out $1,602,500. The results underscore ACR Poker’s reputation as one of the leading global platforms for online poker competition.
Latvian poker professional Rigapols81, a former semi-professional hockey player, outlasted 2,498 entrants to win the NLH PKO title and $675,224 (including $297K in bounties). “The feeling [of winning] is indescribable,” said Rigapols81. “Last year I finished fourth in this exact same tournament, and now I finally managed to win it! I plan to celebrate with my family and friends.”
In the PLO PKO, PohPohPohPAAAA captured the top spot, earning $135,789 plus $117,099 in bounties.
ACR Pro Chris Moneymaker advanced to Day 2 of the NLH PKO, finishing 138th overall. “Every knockout was super exciting and could change your whole tournament,” said Moneymaker. “It was action-packed and full of huge moments, and it’s great to see the Dual Venoms going from strength to strength.”
Following the Dual Venom PKO success, ACR Poker continues its event lineup with the Moneymaker Mystery Million, Phil’s Thrill, and WSOP Paradise satellite promotions, which will send winners to the Bahamas for one of poker’s most prestigious live series.
