Bank of America Merrill Lynch Names Mary Ann Deignan Head of Americas Equity Capital Markets

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced today that Mary Ann Deignan will rejoin the company as managing director and head of Americas Equity Capital Markets. Deignan, who is expected to begin in August, will be responsible for equity and equity-linked capital markets, syndicate and corporate equity derivative activities in the region. She will be based in New York and report to Dan Cummings, head of global Equity Capital Markets.

“Mary Ann is a talented manager, proven originator and tireless leader who will help us further strengthen our leading equity capital markets platform,” said Cummings. “We are thrilled to have her rejoin as a member of our leadership team.”

Prior to joining the company, Deignan spent seven years at UBS where she served as head of Americas Equity Capital Markets since 2007. Before that, she spent 11 years at Merrill Lynch where she had roles in equity capital markets, syndicate and institutional sales. She began her career in leveraged finance at Bankers Trust. Deignan holds a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College and an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch received Best Equity House in North America in 2010 from Euromoney and Best Structured Equity House in 2010 from IFR.
