Bank of America Announces Support for 2011 Hurricane Season

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation today announced a $250,000 commitment to support the American Red Cross Disaster Fund for the 2011 hurricane season, starting with their relief response to Hurricane Irene that impacted states from North Carolina to New England.

"Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this hurricane and the resulting floods that have caused significant damage along the East Coast,” said Kerry Sullivan, president, Bank of America Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to assist the American Red Cross as they help families transition through this difficult time.”

In addition, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation will match employee donations to relief efforts through the bank’s Matching Gifts program.
