Outpost X on Kickstarter Aims to Prove You Can Shoot A Film Without a Camera and Crew

By: PRLog
PRLog - Jul 01, 2013 - NEW YORK -- "Making a movie is hard and making a good movie is even harder," says Paul Boduch, founder of Dark Sun Pictures, "but now with Kickstarter, there is no longer any excuse.  I'm just a poor bloke from New Jersey. I legally registered the company in Manhattan on June 25, 2013 because it's so much cheaper. My rent is currently $25 per month."

"I've dreamed of making a movie since my 20's, but I've approached the process like a scientist, first learning screenwriting, than CGI work to do pre-visualisation. It's taken years and all my savings. I've nearly given up on the process when I discovered Kickstarter. My thinking was, I may not have a camera, I many not have a crew, I may not even have actors, but I'm still shooting."

"The biggest challenge in making an animatic or pre-visualisation for a feature film is time. It's taken me six months to do the animatic working full time (the remainder should take less now that I have some CGI sets done). The only reason I could do it because I started my own company two years back and had a little bit of savings. Finally, I was not overloaded with low-fee work which forced me to do what I really wanted to do into the wee hours of the night and weekends."

"Hopefully, people will think the product was worth it."
