PRLog - Sep. 24, 2013 - OAKLAND, Calif. -- On Friday, October 25, 2013, 8:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA, B1E Jazz Experience presents an all-star line of the best jazz artists in the industry, with three separate duo performances –Stanley Clarke and Al Jarreau will perform a special tribute celebrating the life and music of George Duke. George Duke, who trailblazed almost a half a century career in jazz music, was one of the world’s most prolific jazz legends. From leading a jazz trio with a young Al Jarreau during his formative years to working with Jean-Luc Ponty, afforded Duke his first recording contract with MPS Records and his first exposure to Europe.  When the journey continued with his incredible work with Adderley, drummer Billy Cobham, and Frank Zappa, to his cherished stream of jazz-funk records in the ’70s, Duke found his mark not only in his eclecticism, but also his signature approach to the synthesizer.  On July 16, 2013, Duke released DreamWeaver, which he called his “most honest album in several years.” The album has an illustrious cast of musicians including bassists Christian McBride and Stanley Clarke; singers Teena Marie, Lalah Hathaway, Rachelle Ferrell, and Jeffrey Osborne; guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr. and Jef Lee Johnson.

On Friday, October 25th, the special tribute performance by Stanley Clarke and Al Jarreau is a ‘must-see, must-hear’, once in a life-time experience, that will pull the melodic heartstrings of everyone in the Paramount Theatre.  This dynamic duo will take the audience on a magical journey of the best of George Duke, the music that made him the most memorable and beloved jazz legends by every ethnicity and culture across the country.  Having the duo performances by Randy Crawford and Joe Sample as well as by Gerald Albright and Norman Brown will round out the evening with the very best in jazz music as they perform their evergreen music that is still in demand today.  This concert will be a SELL-OUT!
