Urban Realms Founders Catherine and Thomas Thrush have announced their first urban fantasy map featuring the San Francisco Bay Area, and penned in an old world, fantasy style that is wowing Kickstarter fans in Silicon Valley.
PRLog - Sep. 30, 2013 - SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Local artist and author, Catherine Thrush has created the “Silidor Valley” map of the Bay Area in an appealing Lord of the RingsTM inspired style. In the first two days on-line, backers on Kickstarter provided 42% of the modest budget requested.
If the project is successful, the 18 by 24 inch Silidor Valley Map will be printed in four colors on high quality velum paper. The $2000.00 that Catherine and her husband Tom are trying to raise will pay for printing and shipping costs on the map. The couple also plans to launch a website at www.urbanrealms.com to sell this map and hopefully many others after the end of the Kickstarter project.
Whether you are a fan of Middle EarthTM or WesterosTM, if you enjoy roleplaying games, or design software or ASICs and just like things that are different, you need to check this out. Also, Silicon Valley VPs and CEOs may like this different view of the Valley to decorate the office walls.
Among the rewards for different levels of backing, the couple is offering bookmarks and cards of Silidor Valley map highlights, hand-antiqued by Catherine, as well as maps framed or unframed, and even custom made fantasy maps of the city of your choice.
If they exceed their $2000.00 budget Tom and Catherine plan to give 20% of the proceeds to fund microloans to help other small business people succeed.
