Las Vegas Fab 48 2015 Tournament Recap

The 6th Annual Fab 48 Basketball Tournament was once again a huge success!
PRLog - July 29, 2015 - LAS VEGAS -- Another successful year is in the books for the Fab 48 Las Vegas, one of the largest grassroots tournaments in the country for AAU basketball. Fab 48 took place again at renowned Bishop Gorman High School along with 11 other gyms around the Las Vegas area, and featured over 650 teams in multiple divisions.

Teams were stacked with some of the best players in the country including Thon Maker, Josh Jackson, Jalek Felton, PJ Washington, and more. Jackson; Class of 2016’s Top Recruit even led his team 1Nation to the tournament title in their division. All tournament results and scores can be found on the website at www.lvfab48.com.

Along with great recruits, came great coaches out to scout at the coveted tournament. Over 300 College coaches from several schools and divisions made their way to Vegas this past weekend to see all of the talent this year. High profile college coaches such as Mike Krzyzewski, Bill Self, Roy Williams, John Calipari, Kevin Ollie, and more were in attendance this year. UNC Coach Roy Williams caught glimpses of his future player Jalek Felton (UNC Verbal Commit) as he led his team to the final four of Fab 48 in their division.

Celebrities in attendance for the tournament included NBA players Brandon Jennings, Mike Miller, Russell Westbrook, Mo Williams, Rondae Hollis Jefferson, and more. Even familiar faces such as John Lucas, Darius McCrary, DJ Envy, and Kenny “The Jet” Smith came out to catch some tournament action.

The growth of the Fab 48 tournament has been tremendous for AAU basketball as well for the city of Las Vegas. There were over 125 media outlets covering the event including USA Today, NBC, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Fox Sports, and even local publications like Las Vegas Review Journal and the Las Vegas Sun.

Tournament directors Gary Charles, Dinos Trigonis, and Grant Rice have done a great job in continuing to build this high profile tournament and build on making Las Vegas a destination for hoops.
