InBIA Announces 2016 Category Award Winners

Eight Member Organizations and Five Member Clients Have Been Selected as Award Winners by the International Business Innovation Association
ORLANDO, Fla. - March 28, 2016 - PRLog -- The International Business Innovation Association (InBIA), a non-profit organization and advocate for advancing global entrepreneurship and incubation, has announced the category winners of the 2016 InBIA Awards. Each year, the Association honors business incubation programs, and their clients and graduates who exemplify the best of the industry. These organizations, and the companies they support, have made important industry contributions through their products, services, programs, and more.

InBIA's awards recognize overall excellence in business incubation, as well as member programs that have developed an effective innovation that helps the program better serve clients or accomplish its mission. The following members are category winners of the incubation awards:

·         Accelerator Program of the Year - CTA@Boston (Canadian Technology Accelerator)

·         Incubator Innovation Award - Innovation Depot, Inc.

·         Mixed-Use Incubator of the Year - WT Enterprise Center

·         Student Entrepreneurship Program - John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center

·         Technology/IT Incubator of the Year - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation

·         University Incubator of the Year - Innovation Incubation Center, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology

·         Rural Incubator of the Year - Ohio University Innovation Center

·         Food Incubator of the Year - Rutgers Food Innovation Center

The category winners will now compete for one of two Dinah Adkins Incubator of the Year Awards, either the Technology and Science Focus or General and Special Focus. Those two finalists then compete for InBIA's highest annual award, the Randall M. Whaley Incubator of the Year. Both Dinah Adkins award winners and the Randall M. Whaley winner will be announced live during the Member Recognition and Awards Dinner to be held Monday, April 18, 2016, at Kennedy Space Center. This event is a part of the upcoming 30th International Conference on Business Incubation.

InBIA also gives members the opportunity to submit their current and graduate program clients for awards.  This year's outstanding clients and graduates are recognized for their growth and performance in the marketplace as incubator clients, and as successful graduates of the program. The 2016 winners are:

·         Outstanding Incubator Client: Hard Science - Wyoming Technology Business Center - McGinley Orthopedics

·         Outstanding Incubator Client: Non-Technology - Innovation Depot - IceBox Coffee

·         Outstanding Incubator Client: Software / IT - NPUST Innovation Center - Yangda Biotech Co., Ltd.

·         Outstanding Incubator Graduate: Hard Science - Ohio University Innovation Center - Ecolibrium Solar

·         Outstanding Incubator Graduate: Non Technology - UCF Business Incubation Program - Mad Cap Events

·         Outstanding Incubator Graduate: Software / IT - Technology Centre  - GeoTechVision Enterprises Limited
