By: PRLog
A simple family photo (46%), gift card (46%) or personal card (41%) are just fine for most moms surveyed, but some students looking to make Mother's Day extra-special this year should rethink the vapourizer (8%), hard liquor (7%) or GPS for the car (6%) that they had in mind.
TORONTO - April 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Student Life Network & Parent Life Network, Canada's leading student and parent marketing agency, announces the results of their Mother's Day 2016 Survey of over two thousand parents and students, and got to the bottom of what moms really want and will likely get.

"We decided it would be fun to find out what moms really want this year for Mother's Day while at the same time finding out what students were planning to buy. The results show that moms love simple and affordable gifts like cards or letters and that students can't wait for the chance to show their moms how much they appreciate them with something special," says Sean Copeland, Director of Research at Student Life Network & Parent Life Network.

It's fun to find out what gifts moms want and might get this year, but in our survey we also asked students to tell us why they were planning to buy their moms something for Mother's Day. "There were so many amazing stories this year, but there was one in particular that really pulled at my heartstrings," says Copeland.

"... My mom is my hero. She is honestly the strongest person I know. I lost my dad a few years ago, unexpectedly, and that was the toughest for my mom. Now she is working two jobs to support me with school and my four younger siblings [with] their lives. It kills me inside to see her do so much for us and try to make our lives as normal as possible. Nothing in the world could bring someone like [my dad] back into her life, but these [gifts] could make her days easier and better to enjoy. I love my mom!" - Noor Dhillon, a student from University of Calgary

For any students that have yet to buy their Mother's Day gift this year, there's still time to get her something special to go along with that Mother's Day card.
