Telus Announces Their Trade In: Offers are Available To Customers

Canada's Telus/Cambridge Electronics Incorporated which provides a wide range of communications products and services including data, Internet protocol (IP), voice, wireless, entertainment, and video, is excited to offer its trade-in program to customers. It is available to customers who activate or renew an eligible device and who trade in any device on an eligible rate plan. The company's Fort Saskatchewan store, located at 105-8701 94 st in Alberta, is very pleased to offer the trade-in program to its customers.

The trade-in program lets eligible customers have their appraised trade-in credit topped up. Customers can trade in any device, whether it is a smartphone or a tablet. Trade-in: offers are available to wireless customers who activate or renew an eligible device on a 2-year Your Choice rate plan (Consumer or EPP) or a 2-year business 2-year year rate plan. No minimum contract term is required for a trade-in. Interested customers can call 780-998-9551 to learn more.

Telus Trade-in's must be completed at the time of activation or renewal. For phones, the trade-in value of the device will be determined based on its condition and FMV (Fair Market Value), after an in-store appraisal. Customers can trade in one device per subscriber for credit at the time of new activation, upgrade or renewal. Trade-in credit must be redeemed in-store at the time of device trade-in. Unused credit is relinquished once you leave the store. Customers can trade in any mobile device, from any mobile carrier worldwide, with the exception of Smart Hubs and routers. Before they trade in their device, they should prepare it so their account and personal information are protected.

Dan LHeureux, of the Fort Saskatchewan store in Alberta, said, "This is a great program for our customers. They can trade in any device and get their appraised trade-in credit topped up." To get their credit topped up customers must enter the transaction into the HYLA portal. Transactions not entered into the HYLA portal may not be reimbursed. The company says that this offer is stackable with other code-based offers. Only devices with a minimum value of $25 (after assessment) are eligible for a trade-in promotion.

According to the company in order to receive full trade-in credit, the device must be in working condition. Trade-in credit is non-transferable and has zero cash value. The credit must first be applied toward the cost of any new phone. Any remaining credit can then be used toward accessories only. If a customer wants to drop off their mobile devices, batteries, and accessories for recycling only they can do so at participating Trade-In locations. Recycled items will not be issued trade-in credits and do not require an activation or renewal transaction for drop off. All trades are final so once the device is traded-in, it cannot be reclaimed.

Existing customers in the middle of their contract must pay their outstanding device balance before renewing. Existing customers will also receive a discount toward their new device or accessories whether they are upgrading early or at the end of their term. When they get ready to trade in their devices they can look up the trade-in value of their device on the website at www.telus.com. And they can even use the Store Locator on the website to find the closest Trade-in location. A benefit of the program for the customer is evident in the fact that the company says that they are very competitive with the other retailers that offer a trade-in program. They say that if an unused phone sits in a drawer it will continue to lose value, value that could be put towards a new device. They even have a Device Protection Plan that customers can benefit from and that gives them peace of mind.

Dan Lheureux says, “Another bonus to trading in phones is the customers will have the satisfaction of knowing that they are disposing of their used device in an environmentally safe manner. Telus will recycle the devices and give $3 to Tree Canada. Through our ongoing relationship with Tree Canada, we sponsor the planting of trees. The trade-in program definitely benefits the environment. And this is one of the company's main goals,” Andrea Goertz, Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, and Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at Telus says, “Today, more than ever, our planet needs our attention. It is our collective responsibility to ensure our current actions create a better future for the next generations. We owe it to our children.”
