Viewpoint: Mass. needs comprehensive climate action now

Gov. Baker’s proposed transfer fee, which is expected to raise an additional $137 million a year in revenue, represents a modest investment that will have important benefits for the long-term sustainability of our commonwealth. But time and tide wait for no one: Our state needs substantial investments in climate-change remediation and adaptation — as well as innovative ways to finance them.
