Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure

Beginning on June 10, 2009, New York Community Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) will make available and distribute to investors, and post on its website, a presentation regarding the Company’s first quarter 2009 performance and its business model. The presentation, which was previously given, and furnished as part of a Form 8-K, on May 1, 2009, includes three new slides and four slides that have been updated and which are furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1 pursuant to Regulation FD.
