Merger Update

We are pleased to update you with more information about the status of the acquisition, which is progressing as expected and targeted to close July 1, 2013. The evaluation of the overall organization has continued, with LINN and Berry working together to create an organization that positions the company for future growth and as a leader in the upstream MLP sector.

In anticipation of the closing date, LINN employees will be onsite in several locations beginning this week to kick-off preparations for integrating our businesses. Specific dates and locations will be communicated to each group separately.

Our focus remains on employees during this time. We understand that you have specific questions about how this transaction impacts you personally and how or if your role will change. At the end of May and early June, LINN and Berry Human Resources teams will be available onsite to answer questions and provide additional information about LINN programs and benefits.

In the meantime, a dedicated email address has been created: questions@linnenergy.com. This email provides you with direct access to LINN so that you have the ability to submit questions confidentially. The team will work diligently to provide you with the information you need within a short period of time. Also, we will work with Human Resources to get Q&As posted to the Berry intranet site, as appropriate.

We are very excited about what the future brings as we merge these two great companies. Updates will continue to be provided to keep the entire team up-to-date about integration activities.

Sincerely,

Bob Heinemann and Mark Ellis
