(b) Effective June 3, 2007, Robert J. Price resigned as Senior Vice President and Controller of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (the "Company").

(c) Effective June 4, 2007, Beth A. Bombara, age 39, has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President and Controller of the Company. Since joining the Company in April 2004 as a Vice President, with primary responsibility for the Company’s compliance with the internal control requirements set forth in Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Ms. Bombara has held positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, Ms. Bombara was promoted to the position of Vice President, Deputy Controller, with responsibility for external financial reporting, accounting policy and internal management reporting, while continuing to oversee Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Bombara worked for the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP from June 2002 to April 2004, where she served as a Senior Manager in the audit practice. Ms. Bombara began her career in accounting at the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP, where she was promoted to audit partner in September 2001.
