Tell us about All Up in Your Bizness: Managing Your Business Crap.
All Up in Your Bizness: Managing Your Business Crap is my no-holds-barred, laugh-out-loud guide to surviving and thriving in the business world.
With over 30 years in the trenches of corporate life, I’ve seen it all: from awkward team meetings to office gossip, flirty emails, and those dreaded annual reviews. Equal parts satire and savvy advice, this book serves up real-world advice on everything from asking for a raise to avoiding holiday party disasters.
Short chapters, cheeky cartoons, and even a few craft cocktail recipes make it a breeze to read, whether you're hiding from your boss or unwinding after a long day. So, whether you're a workplace newbie or a seasoned pro, I wrote this to make your 9-to-5 a little more bearable—and a lot more fun.
What inspired you to write All Up in Your Bizness: Managing Your Business Crap?
While working as a manager for a Fortune 500 company for 24 years, I witnessed firsthand the hilarious (and sometimes head-scratching) ways people navigated office life. In specific, as a female manager, I knew first-hand about the glass ceiling and the good old boys club. Upon retirement, I realized I had a treasure trove of real-life scenarios just waiting to be shared.
All Up in Your Bizness was my way of capturing those moments with a mix of humor and hard-earned wisdom. I wanted to offer practical advice on dealing with the everyday chaos of the workplace in a way that was funny, irreverent and real.
So, whether you’re just starting your career or already knee-deep in corporate nonsense, this book is here to help you laugh through the madness—and learn something along the way.
How did you feel when you found out you received a Book Excellence Award?
Receiving a Book Excellence Award is an incredible honor—and a powerful validation of my work. This prestigious recognition not only shines a spotlight on my book but also connects it with a global audience of readers, media, and industry professionals. Winning this award affirms that the stories, advice, and wit I poured into these pages resonate beyond the workplace. It’s deeply rewarding to have my debut book celebrated on such an esteemed platform.
What is one message you would like readers to remember?
Don't let them see you sweat.
In the chaotic world of work, the ability to maintain your cool—especially when things get tough—speaks volumes. It's about handling challenges with grace and confidence, showing that you can stay calm—even when things are out of your control.
