Fans Exuberant over the Release of the Latest Weis and Hickman Novel

Fans across the world will delight with todays release of the newest novel by The New York Times best-selling authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Dragons of the Highlord Skies is the second, highly anticipated book in their latest trilogy, The Lost Chronicles.

In the trilogy, Weis and Hickman fill in critical details about the events and characters readers have grown attached to in the 22 years since the creation of the DRAGONLANCE® sagas first trilogy, The Dragonlance Chronicles. Eleven novels in the series have been NYT best sellers, including the first book in The Lost Chronicles trilogy and all three novels in the original Chronicles trilogy.

Weis and Hickman have collaborated to write more than 30 novels, as well as numerous short stories and game material. Fans frequently cite DRAGONLANCE as the authors greatest achievement, and will revel in this trilogy as it mines the roots of the series for a fresh look at the original heroes and villains.

The novel, published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc., has been written to complement the original Chronicles while remaining accessible and engaging to new readers. Featuring a strong female character, the feared Blue Lady, Kitiara Uth Matar, known for taking on the world on her own terms, the book will appeal to a wide range of readers.

With this trilogy, the authors sought to fill in areas of the story that never had the opportunity to be told in the original construction of the series, said Liz Schuh, Director of Publishing for Wizards of the Coast. While thrilling to those of us who are longtime fans of the series, we believe the storys accessibility makes it a great entry point for newcomers as well.

The release of the latest Weis and Hickman novel comes just in time for fans eagerly awaiting the release of the animated DRAGONLANCE movie.
