Meridian Design Associates, Architects Receives Honorable Mentions and Runner-Up Honors in The Prestigious Architecture Master Prize and World Design Awards

Firm Recognized for Work on WarnerMedia's CNN Headquarters, HBO Latin America Group Data Center, and NBCUniversal News Group Washington, D.C. Bureau

NEW YORK, NY, January 20, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Meridian Design Associates, Architects, P.C, (www.meridiandesign.com), an award-winning architecture and design firm, received coveted honors from the prestigious Architecture MasterPrize and World Design Awards for three projects: Warner Media's CNN Headquarters, the HBO Latin American Group Data Center, and NBCUniversal News Group's Washington, D.C.'s news bureau.

The Architecture MasterPrize honorable mention awards were in Interior Design/Commercial Interior for WarnerMedia's CNN Headquarters in New York City and in Architectural Design/Miscellaneous Architecture for the HBO Latin America Group Data Center in Sunrise, Florida.

Meridian earned runner-up honors in the World Design Awards 2021 in the Corporate Interior Built category for its design and fit-out assistance for the NBCUniversal News Group's Washington, D.C.'s news bureau. The Architecture Company, an international architecture awards platform, recently announced the honorees for the World Design Awards 2021.

About The Projects
For WarnerMedia, Meridian designed and coordinated 130,000 SF of media and technical space and 310,000 SF of corporate interiors across six large podium floors at 30 Hudson Yards in New York City. The LEED Gold certified project involved the relocation of the WarnerMedia from its headquarters in uptown Manhattan to the newly developed Hudson Yards District on the west side of midtown Manhattan.

The HBO project, located in Sunrise, Florida, involved the construction of a new building and satellite uplink facility, and the renovation of an existing office and technical building on a four-acre site. Meridian also designed a covered, elevated walkway and bridge linking the two buildings. The connecting structure functions as a safe path for employees and contains wireways for technical connectivity between the two facilities.

"Our architecture and design goals for each project included meeting our clients' needs for flexibility and comfort, along with high-function and aesthetically-pleasing elements for optimal business operations," said Argibay.

World Design Awards Runner-Up
The NBCUniversal project, totaling 80,000 SF on two floors, included both the renovation and addition of technical and support areas including studios, control/edit rooms, open flash cam areas, the assignment desk and newsroom, and meeting areas and offices. Meridian coordinated all furniture and broadcast consoles and integrated NBCU News Group's brand and vision strategically throughout the two floors.

"We created a dynamic work environment centered around the assignment desk—the newsroom's hub—with nearby open and closed collaborative areas to provide workplace flexibility," said Meridian Senior Associate Carlos Young.

One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the low ceiling heights, and the need to overlaying the infrastructure to support the networks' 24-hour news operation and accompanying technical requirements. "We were able to successfully address this throughout the design process through the integration of 3D modeling coupled with our extensive knowledge of building systems," said Young.

"I'm proud of our entire team, which overcame the design challenges and worked under tight on-air deadlines to complete the project on time and within the established budget," added Argibay.
