The Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) is a high-standard university which is located in Oko, Kwara State, in the Irepodun Local Government Area. On Thursday, 2nd June 2022, the Golden Eaglets football team of Nigeria settled for a draw in a six-goal soccer game against Thomas Adewumi International College Sports Academy in Abuja. In preparations for the upcoming WAFU Cup Championship, the Nigeria U-17 team played TAICO at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch, Abuja with the match ending in 3-3. Golden Eaglets opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Abdulwahab Sadiq restored parity in the 34th minute with a fine tap in. The Hammed Olalekan-led side went ahead in the 52nd minute through Bamidele Victor but that didn’t last long as Golden Eaglets responded with a leveler in the 57th minute. Marofudeen Mohammed put TAICO once ahead in the 84th minute but a late goal from Golden Eaglets ensured the game ended in a draw. The Golden Eaglets have been paired in Group A alongside Ghana and Togo for the WAFUB Cup tourney that will take place in Cape Coast, Ghana. As a logical progression of its efforts in providing high-quality university education at the basic and secondary school levels, the Proprietor of Thomas Adewumi University decided to build a university. And the mission of Thomas Adewumi University is to train excellent scholars and scientists with adequate knowledge of the natural world, leveraging this knowledge to be world solution providers.
There are 3 faculties at Thomas Adewumi University. They are the faculty of computing and applied sciences, the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Basic Medicals and Health Sciences. The faculty of computing and applied sciences comprise seven (7) departments that cover a wide range of human life. The faculty trained students to go on practicing in nearly every aspect of technological advancement and innovation, also in applied sciences that have to do with human life. Departments in the Faculty of computing and applied sciences are the Department of Software Engineering, Department of Physics with Electronics, Department of Microbiology, Department of Computer Science, Department of Mathematics, Department of Chemistry, and the Department of Biochemistry. The faculty of management science and social sciences houses five (5) Which comprise management sciences where quality training is Conferred in a broadened and market-driven environment. we are resolved to offer expert learning opportunities. Departments in the Faculty of management science and social sciences are the Department of Mass Communication, the Department of Economics Department of criminology and Security studies, and the Department of Business Administration Department of Accounting. The faculty of Basic Medical and Health Science houses three programs. The faculty is fine-tuned to achieve excellent undergraduate education by preparing our students to assume roles in their respective professional practice. Also training our students to stand out in advancing the health of the public through developing and disseminating new knowledge about health, health care, and health care delivery through scholarly inquiry, Providing consultation, health care programs, and health care services in response to emerging and urgent public health needs. Departments in the Faculty are the Department of Physiotherapy, the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, and the Department of Nursing Science.
